8 FOOT LEGO R2D2 MODEL BUILD IN SHERWAY SQUARE

Steve Gerling, LEGO Master Builder will begin the 8 foot LEGO R2D2 model build on Friday, May 13 at 11am. Sherway Square will be set up with 8-10 tables around a 4 foot platform; each table will contain LEGO bricks and building instructions.

Once the building starts, kids are invited to come to the tables to use the LEGO pieces to build one giant brick that is four times the size of a regular brick, which LEGO Master Builder Gerling will use to help build the model. Participating kids will receive a free LEGO Star Wars(TM) Certificate of Achievement for helping the Master Builders (while supplies last).

While LEGO Master Builder Gerling works on the LEGO R2D2 model, there will be appearances throughout the weekend by the Star Wars 501st Legion. The build will continue throughout the entire weekend until the last piece is added on Sunday at 5pm.

BUILDING HOURS:

THE NEW LEGO STORE AT SHERWAY GARDENS:

“The new LEGO store at Sherway Gardens will enhance our consumers’ overall LEGO brand experience through product variety, store design and regular hands-on family events,” says Skip Kodak, vice president, LEGO Group. “Children and families will be able to experience first-hand and hands-on the creativity and imagination that goes into LEGO building and be inspired by the over 4 million LEGO bricks that are in the store at any given time.”
The store raises the bar in kid-chic design, innovative displays and consumer-friendly play areas to deliver an engaging, entertaining and fun experience for families. LEGO stores house wall-to-wall product amidst three key design components. The “Pick A Brick Wall”, by far the hottest store feature, offers the option to purchase specific LEGO bricks and elements in a variety of colors and shapes in bulk. The “Living Room”, an interactive play area prominently positioned in the center of the store, gives consumers a chance to get “hands-on, minds-on” with LEGO products, view out of the box displays or just take a break from shopping. Finally, a “Brand Ribbon” runs the circumference of the store, featuring LEGO model displays, company history and fun facts to entertain guests.

Guests will find a full selection of LEGO products and branded merchandise for children ages 2 and up, including all-new NINJAGO construction sets, hot new products in the award-winning CREATOR and CITY lines, new characters from the best-selling HERO FACTORY story line, and LEGO DUPLO® sets for preschoolers, including Fire and Zoo themes.

ALSO OPENING SOON AT SHERWAY GARDENS:

The LEGO Store will be in good company with new stores like Victoria's Secret, PINK by Victoria's Secret and Juicy Couture. Followed by the opening of Stuart Weitzman, Le Creset, Kiehl's and Pandora opening this summer at Sherway Gardens.
