Historic buildings provide the perfect backdrop for this ever-popular and growing festival, which was shown on Martha Stewart in 2005. More than 100 horse-drawn antique carriages parade through the streets, pulled by miniature horses, majestic Clydesdales, and all kinds of horses in between. Early birds line the streets at 1pm for an afternoon parade, and those who attend the 7pm procession are treated to a candlelit parade. Other festivities include gift and food vendors, Christmas carolers, traveling bell choir, storytelling, musical entertainment, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus extended business hours for the city's 60-plus antique and specialty stores.

My fiance and I are looking forward to seeing the parade. I think we will hold out for the 7:00pm parade to see it by candle light. That seems like it will be more romantic.

I moved here from another state and stumbled upon this parade last year. This is a unique parade and far from boring. I will be attending the evening parade and thanks all the hardworking horse handlers for an excellent parade.

I have a mare that is in this parade. It is a great event. To the person who said it was boring, you should see what it's like from our side of the board. You have no idea how long it takes to desensitize an animal to be able to withstand screaming children, snapping photo's, etc. If you dislike it, then you can go right to hell, but there is no reason for you to slam this event just because you cannot appreciate the history and work that is put into this event. This is one of the few times a year our town gets together to celebrate something meaningful. I know other horse owners like myself work very hard to pull this off. We are not paid to do this parade, and do it from the goodness of our hearts. If you would rather, we can all just not put this show on, if it would appease those who show no support. We are not required nor compensated for the time and energy we put into this parade. That is similar to working without being paid. But the children and families that show such wonderment from looking at our animals make the event worth while. What happned to if you hvae nothing good to say, say nothing at all?

My husband, daughter, and I will be attending this evenings parade. We are VERY excited. We have lived in Lebanon for four years and only missed it once. It is gorgeous! And even better, IT IS SNOWING! We have very good friends who have participated in the event in the past and know the hard work that goes into the day. For those of you who participate, thank you for your generous gift of time and talents with the animals. It is sincerely appreciated. Have a wonderful holiday!
