Using in class writing exercises', improv games, and brainstorming, each student will learn to "think in jokes". We'll craft our life experiences, observations, likes and dislikes into comedy material ready to be performed for the public. This three class workshop (2 hr each) will end with a show where the students get to perform the material they've created to a live audience of friends and family at the graduation show. Rich Gustus has over twenty years experience as a professional comedian. He's appeared on the Comedy Central show Dr Katz: Professional Therapist. and has opened for comedy stars such as Bill Maher, Kevin Nealon, and Denis Leary. He's been teaching stand up for over five years, and former students have appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Comedy Central shows, A Night at Gotham, and The World Stands Up. The performance on June 28th is the graduation performance.
