Common Good Vermont: Nonprofit Maven Series Learn How We Learn: Effective On-the-Job Training Skills Date/Time: Thursday, November 11th from 2 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. (ET) Format: Webinar/ ReadyTalk (Audio and Computer) Fee: $35.00

Everyone learns best in different ways, but most on-the-job training in the non-profit sector looks like: "you watch me, then I'll follow you." That training process doesn't work equally well for all new employees. Fortunately, awareness of learning styles and practical application of that knowledge can improve the effectiveness of on-the-job training and increase trainee's skill retention. This interactive webinar explores David Kolb's cycle of experiential learning so that participants will gain an understanding of their own and others' preferred learning styles. Together we will explore how to apply this model, train to all learning styles, and improve on-the-job training.

Our Presenter: Kat Morgan, MSOD, MSW, is a training & development and organization development professional. She has over two decades of experience working in the nonprofit sector, and is passionate about creating interactive learning experiences that help create change. Currently, she works remotely as the one-person training department for a national nonprofit based in the metropolitan DC area.
