In this forum, leading experts on political science, international affairs and constitutionalism and democracy in South Korea will address the current political and social malaise in South Korea and the various factors that will influence the upcoming midterm elections. Along these lines, the presenters will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the political system that persist under the Roh administration in comparison to other democratic systems, and the impact the outcome of the elections will have on the future of South Korean political and economic stability, the U.S.-ROK relationship, and the efforts to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.
