This year, the Leading Learning conference will move from the idyllic setting of Deerhurst Resort to the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North. Over the years, Leading Learning has been described as “a step above” and a “professional and well organized” event. The organizing committee has listened to the advice of delegates and vendors and will build on the successes of past years and present a stimulating and thought provoking program that speaks to the issues that administrators, teachers and students in North America face daily as we merge best teaching practices with the technologies that are connected to everything we do in our schools.

We will bring you keynote speakers who will push your thinking in the areas of internet safety, privacy and the extended presence of our schools in highly collaborative, online communities. Also building on the success of last year’s conference, we will include a tool track strand that allows us to learn from industry leaders and software developers how emerging technologies are providing rich new avenues to explore in our quest to improve student success.

Leading Learning is about a contemporary sense of literacy in an exciting and rapidly evolving space we call education.

The four conference strands for the 2008 event are:

Media Literacy K-12, featuring an emphasis on Online Safety

Mobile Learning, featuring an emphasis on eLearning and Podcasting

Social Networking, with a focus on Online Communities and New Web Collaboration
