BOOKSMYTH PRESS is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ALL OF ME, a collection of poems by the poet, Lea Banks. ALL OF ME will be released at a reception, September 23rd, at which the author will read from and sign her new book. Of this startling fresh poetic voice Alicia Ostriker has remarked: Read Lea Banks for vitality, read her for velocity. Dance with her if you dare, catch her if you can. But bewareBanks is a poet of a thousand whirling metaphors. Youll have to move fast. Carol Frost says of this remarkable poets first chapbook: Carnival, whirlpool, Gods fierce whimsy, beautys blackout, hot color, Devil: they all belong to Lea Banks. She invokes the phenomenal, and from behind parted fingers her readers peek. The poems in ALL OF ME are brave-spirited and they make all of us braver. Mark September 23rd on your calendars to attend the reception for this exceptional talent and her first foray into publication with ALL OF ME. Banks explores, with a leopards fearless grace and glide, the many shadowed corners of the souls jungled depths--none who follow in her wake will fail to be inspired by the piercing beauty of this poets courageous clarity. Come to hear her read from and sign ALL OF ME at Mocha Mayas Coffeehouse, 47 Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls at 7pm, Tuesday evening, September 23. Lea Banks lives in Western Massachusetts. She is the founder of the Collected Poets Series in Shelburne Falls, MA, editor of Oscillation: Art and Poetry in Motion, poetry editor of the Equinox, and editorial assistant for the Marlboro Review. She attended New England Colleges MFA program, facilitated stroke survivors writing workshops, and manages her daughters modeling career. Banks has been published in several journals including Poetry Northwest, Slipstream, Diner, and American Poetry Journal. She has a new chapbook out this year, ALL OF ME, published by Booksmyth Press.
