music, song, and dance of Québec
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50
Nicolas Boulerice, Olivier Demers, Simon Beaudry, and Réjean Brunet blow onto our stage tonight with all the unstoppable force of their namesake, the north wind. Youthful ambassadors of the current roots music revival in Quebec, these four multi-instrumentalist singers (and veterans of famed groups like La Bottine Souriante and Ad Vielle Que Pourra) sweep away all in their path with their irresistible energy and infectious verve. Dynamic arrangements of traditional Quebecois songs and dances, plus plenty of fresh original music, mixed with fine harmony singing and the sounds of fiddle and hurdy-gurdy, make for a truly uplifting evening—in the sense that you'll be lifted up off your chair and into the aisles to dance!

Since its inception in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has made quite a splash on the Canadian folk music scene. The group has won numerous awards, from a 2004 Juno for Traditional Album of the Year for their CD Maudite Moisson! to the award for Best Traditional Artist at the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance's 2006 conference. Their latest CD is Dans Les Airs.
