The Museum of South Texas welcomes its newest exhibit on Casimiro Perez Alvarez, who was an influential man in South Texas. Besides being a Deputy U.S. Head Marshal, Alvarez opened a school in Rio Grande City for Mexican-Texan children and also published two newspapers in Spanish, El Voluntario and El Bien Publico.
