Dome Projections + Discussions in the Planetarium
The UNM ARTS lab welcomes Laurie Anderson for a talk and screening addressing how artists are working with scientific technologies. Her film Hidden Inside Mountains will be screened on the immersive planetarium dome followed by highlights of video pieces created for DomeFest 2004 to 2008. Hidden Inside Mountains is a film of short stories about nature, artifice and dreams. Located in a fictitious world of theatrical spaces, the stories unfold through music, gesture, text and the poetry of visual images. The film’s haunting music features violins, bells, dog barks and melody as well as Anderson’s signature electronic sounds. Both joy and loss are caught in this film in Japanese and English. Running time is 25 minutes.
Tickets are $20 general, $15 students. There will be a very limited number of tickets available for this special presentation and screening.
