Using the synthetic language of technology and the sensuous language of song writing, Homeland explores 21st century America and its obsessions with security and information, the relationship between fear and freedom, and the persistent new vocabulary of war.

The music, built on the foundation of groove electronics, is performed by a small ensemble with Anderson on violin, keyboards and samples. At the centre of the piece is her own voice, continuously shifting from a single point of view to that of a Greek chorus.
