Acclaimed pianist Laura Leon and award-winning flutists Amy Ziegelbaum and Lauren Ausubel will perform a premier recital at Yamaha’s midtown Piano Salon on Sunday, April 15. The program will include such works as:

 Aaron Copland: In Evening Air
 Bela Bartok: Rumanian Folk Dances
 Claude Debussy: La Fille Aux Cheveux De Lin
 J.S. Bach: Toccata in D major
 Georges Enesco: Cantabile and Presto

Laura Leon, an internationally-renowned pianist and recording artist, is a graduate of the Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music in New York. She is recognized for her solo and collaborative performances which include the International Oceania Arts Festival, The Mozart Opera Project, The White House/Capitol Hill’s Days of Remembrance and the Australian Consulate-General. Ms. Leon has received critical acclaim for her performances and music recordings by distinguished American composers, including Leo Kraft, Steven Rosenhaus, Eric Ewazen and Morton Gould. She has an active teaching studio and her teaching staff positions have included New York University and C.W. Post’s Chamber Music Institute.

Flutist Amy Ziegelbaum is a recitalist and active recording artist. She initiated a special instrumental program at the Andrus Children’s Center in Westchester County, which includes a unique flute program for children with special needs. She can also be heard with Ms. Leon in the 2006 Emmy award-winning documentary A Hidden Life, which aired on PBS. Flutist Lauren Ausubel is an active soloist, chamber musician and teacher, and has performed with noted orchestras and chamber ensembles such as the Ridotto Chamber Players, the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and the Manhattan Sinfonia. Both women are founding members of the award-winning Femmes Four Flute Quartet, winner of the 2004 Artists International NY Debut Competition.
