Emilio Williams, the award-winning playwright who recently moved to Chicago from Madrid, is garnering critical praise on both sides of the Atlantic for his profound and over-the-top comedies, and Instituto Cervantes of Chicago is proud to host the official launch of Mr. Williams’ new theater company, The Chicago Theater Sweatshop. The company is dedicated to bringing new and groundbreaking international comedies to Chicago, and to forging creative links with theater artists here, in New York, Europe and Latin America.

The kick-off evening will include dramatized readings from some of Williams' most memorable plays by esteemed collaborating actors Geraldine Dulex, Skye Fort, Mercedes Herrero, Christopher Kauffmann, Mariana Leite, Bryn Packard, Chris Popio, and Abigail Vega.
