Laude Lorrain: the Painter as Draftsman October 27, 2006

The great French 17th-century landscape artist Claude Lorrain is featured in this exhibition showcasing his unique response to the topography and atmospheric effects characteristic of the Roman countryside. Eighty-five exquisite drawings from the incomparable collection of works by Claude in the British Museum, London, will be joined by about 15 paintings.
