Latent Images: SFAI MFA Graduate Films and Videos presents premiere works from the San Francisco Art Institute's 2009 Master of Fine Arts graduates in film and video. In the tradition of the experimental work for which the SFAI Film department is known, these works exhibit varied sensibilities, yet share a commitment to exploration and to expanding the expressive potential of the moving image. From the lighthearted to the sublime, the personal to the political, and the spiritual to the perceptual, these films and videos eschew easy categorization and, in turn, offer a context for rethinking the ways in which meaning is found and how we come to perceive.

The program includes Sarah Wylie Ammerman (Couples Vids, 2009), Baodao (Bonanza, 2009), Finn E. Bugge (Dear Lina, 2009), Kai-Ting Chuang (Intimations, 2009), Andrés García Franco (Old Cinemas, 2009), Jae-Min Han (Homo Symbious, 2008), Ruth Marie Hodgins (Sex_Sick_Balls_Head, 2009), Milena García (Letter From An Ex Lover, 2009) and (Horizontal, 2009), April Grayson (Another Word For Family, 2007), Kevin Joesph Laccone (Bird's Dream, 2008), Mickey Ray Mahoney (Traverse City, 2009), Sandhya Kumar (Light Falling On White Flowers, 2009), David Yun (Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?, 2009)
