An evening of live music and performance curated by Kaparte Promotions exploring the continuing inspiration of Romanticism. Expect a decadent mix of melodies and noise as avant-garde meets classical. Including performances from co-founder of Siouxsie and the Banshees Steven Severin, nocturnal atmospherics from Madam and industrial sonic explorers Vultures Quartet with stunning improvised vocals from singer Ernesto Tomasini plus Joe Boyd, Nigel Waymouth, Jill Kennington, and Delisia Howard discussing Swinging London romanticism with Guy Sangster Adams editor of Plectrum magazine.

The Vultures Quartet is an experimental noise making venture mixing industrial, jazz, improv, rock, and classical. For this performance they will be joined by avant-garde singer and performer Ernesto Tomasini.

Exploring the threads of romanticism running through the epicentres of fashion, music, art, and design, in 1960's London, from the Kings Road to UFO, from Granny Takes a Trip to Biba, Guy Sangster Adams, editor of Plectrum - The Cultural Pick magazine, in conversation with Joe Boyd, music and film producer and co-founder of UFO, Nigel Waymouth, co-founder of Granny Takes a Trip and one half of Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, Jill Kennington, iconic model - Vogue's 'face of 1963' and 'pure 1966', and Delisia Howard, head of Biba cosmetics and household, and Biba in-house model.

20.20 Steven Severin

Tonight co-founder of Siouxsie and the Banshees Steven Severin will present his live soundtrack performance to Jean Cocteau’s 1930 movie classic Le Sang d'un Poete (55 mins) plus a live score for the new short film Maloja (6 mins) by Mademoiselle L. A key member of the infamous "Bromley contingent" which helped to redefine fashion and culture in Seventies England, Steven Severin formed Siouxsie and the Banshees in 1976 together with Siouxsie Sioux. Steven was featured on all 16 albums and 30 singles as co-lyricist and songwriter during their two decades long career. During their reign, Siouxsie and the Banshees established themselves as one of the foremost alternative artists and the only survivors of the London punk scene to evolve, innovate and succeed until their mid 90s break up. Since the split of the Banshees Steven Severin has been busy working on various solo projects and collaborations as well as continuing to work as a producer and writing articles for The Guardian and The Independent.
