Last of the Red Hot Lovers March 14, 2009

This play tells the story of middle-aged Barney Cashman who married his high-school sweetheart and who now wants to have one sweeping extra-marital, romantic fling in his tranquil, faithful marriage before life passes him by. On three different afternoons he brings women to his mother’s apartment while she’s at the hospital doing volunteer work. There are plentiful laughs in this tender portrayal of a decent fellow who just can’t succeed in sinning.
Starring in Alliance Rep.’s production is husband and wife John and Linda Correll of Winfield Park, Jen Hanselman of New Brunswick, and Joy Salerno of East Brunswick. Directing ‘Last of the Red Hot Lovers’ is Alliance Repertory Theatre Company’s Company Manager, Douglas Brautigam of East Brunswick.
