While there is fierce international controversy in 1976 over the use of in vitro fertilization in humans, Dr. Colin Sanford is an ambitious and brilliant Pacific Northwest obstetrician who is trying to lead the field. He recruits Dr. Giselle Hearn, a noted genetic-embryologist at the University, and they work in secret to try to make their mark in history. But Hearn is murdered and the cops are pressured by powerful University benefactors to hush it up. Sanford determines to not allow that to happen. Larry is a former physician who was a pioneer himself in the field.
