A mad-cap comedy about an accidental collaboration between a self-consciously "serious" playwright, Madeline Ballantine, and an enthusiastic bellhop-turned-playwright, Ray O'Keefe, resulting in the hit comedy of 1930's Broadway. Ray is happy, the producers are delirious, and Madeline is inconsolable. There goes her reputation. Claudia Allen's comic "Cahoots" follows this unlikely artistic collaboration as it reflects the next several decades of American theater and America itself.
