Landscapes From the Age of Impressionism August 18, 2011

This exquisite exhibition of 40 luminous paintings includes many of the finest examples of mid-19th- through early 20th-century French and American landscapes in the Brooklyn Museum's collection. The works presented offer a broad survey of landscape painting as practiced by such leading French artists as Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet and their acclaimed American peers including Frederick Childe Hassam and John Singer Sargent.
