Laguna Beach Film Society September Screening September 6, 2012

Laguna Dance Festival is regarded as one of Orange County’s major annual cultural events and continues to be an important showcase for new and established dance companies and artists. This preview performance at Laguna Art Museum during First Thursdays Art Walk will feature a sample of innovative dance choreographed by three artists:

Jennifer Lott presents a mesmerizing duet, From Personal Mythology: An American Odyssey, with the music of Bob Dylan’s “Gates of Eden” by DM Stith

Jessie Ryan adds humor and a theatrical sensibility to contemporary dance in her rendition of These Arms of Mine set to the pop standard of the same name by the soulful Otis Redding

Saleemah E. Knight features her duet Above and Below, which experiments with the space created above, below, around, and between human bodies
