San Francisco, CA – The needs of the Haitian people are only increasing as the medical support continues and reconstruction begins. The San Francisco Ladies for Haiti are eager to contribute by throwing a benefit concert on February 28 at the Red Devil Lounge. They carefully selected Partners in Health (www.pih.org) as the night's beneficiary. PIH has worked tirelessly in Haiti for over 20 years, before the recent earthquake disaster brought Haiti’s poverty back in the world’s limelight, and will continue to work in Haiti after that light dims.

PIH was started by Dr. Paul Farmer who began working in Haiti in the 1980's where he helped to build a rural clinic and trained local Haitians to become healthcare professionals. Since then, PIH has grown considerably and is looked to as leader by other international aid organizations that began working in Haiti after the earthquake.
