About the venue:

Now in its 87th year Café de Paris has got the longest and greatest history of any nightclub on the planet. In the 20s it housed European royalty and global stars, in the 30s & 40s it embodied the glamour and the British stiff upper lip and kept its doors open despite the blitz (eventually being closed by a 50K landmine). Rebuilt in ’49 and the 50s, things were business as usual until the changing face of London’s club scene saw Café rebranded as a dance hall. The 60’s and 70’s passed until in 1983 Cafe was once again catapulted to stardom and filled with global glitterati thanks to the attention of Nick Fry and his infamous Wednesday club. The venue has had its ups and downs over the last 30 years but unlike any other club in the world has remained totally original (grade II listed, no less) and open for business despite the total transformation of the streets above. Now 2011 has seen yet another reinvigoration of the venue through a series of high profile events and the birth of La Rêve, making it once again one of the busiest clubs in London and indeed the world.
