The 7th Annual La Jolla Motor Car Classic presented by the La Jolla Historical Society moves its show from the month of January to its new date on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Ellen Scripps Browning Park will play host again to this year’s show overlooking the beautiful La Jolla Cove and featuring over 150 exquisite automobiles being judged in over 30 specialty car classes.

The featured marque for this year is German Automobiles and past marques include: CCCA classics, pre- and post-war, racecars, vintage motorcycles, horseless carriages, and Italian, and British sports cars. This juried show will include classes such as; a Winner’s Circle award (comprised of prior Best of Show and Best in Class winners), Director’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Best in Restoration, and Excellence in Design. Celebrating the finest classics in America’s Finest City, the event will showcase superior stateside automobiles, including Mercedes Benz Sedans, Auburn Speedsters, Jaguar Roadsters, Chevy Corvettes, Shelby Cobras, Packards, Ford Mustangs and Ferraris.

Jay Moore ’09 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Most Elegant Open Car & La Jolla Motor Car Classic Best in Show ’10 winner, considers himself an “avid classic car enthusiast” and compliments the La Jolla Motor Car Classic show for its “beautiful venue, entrant food services, timely judging, and award presentations” saying that they “were among the best I have experienced.”

Preceding the show itself will be a book signing on Friday, April 1 and a catered lunch and car tour of San Diego's top car collector locales on Saturday, April 2. Tickets to the Sunday Show are $35 in advance and $40 at the entrance. The registration fee to show your automobiles is $100 and all entrants must register by February 1, 2011 at www.lajollamotorcarclassic.com; the Classic is a juried show and entries are limited, so be sure to register early!

Proceeds will go back to the La Jolla Historical Society.
