How might artists and digital activists respond to a third or fourth World War? Ricardo Dominguez is a proponent of tactical media, transparent hacking, & virtual sit-ins. He is co-founder of The Electronic Disturbance Theater, former co-Director of Thing, & past member of Critical Art Ensemble. His work with collectives & tactical media groups have resulted in controversial projects, including Digital Zapatismo in solidarity with Zapatista communities, & the recent Transborder Immigrant Tool (a cellphone safety net for crossing the Mexico/U.S. border), winner of the Transnational Communities Award. He is an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego in Visual Arts, a Hellman Fellow, & Principal Investigator at CALIT2.

Ricardo Dominguez’s talk is presented in partnership with e-fagia (www.e-fagia.org). e-fagia is a Toronto-based organization of artists and writers created to produce and disseminate electronic art projects with an emphasis on contemporary Canadian and Latin American artists.
