Created between 1975 and 1982, this film presents an apocalyptic vision of the collision of two different worlds -- urban life and technology versus the environment. In Hopi Indian, Koyaanisqatsi means "life out of balance, a state of life that calls for another way of living." The film, which launched the career of film director and producer Godfrey Reggio, features an evocative musical score composed by Philip Glass and stunning cinematography by Ron Fricke. (1983, 87 min.)
