Experience the contrast of Knole’s deer park and join us on a 4 mile picturesque walk that leads us through the different landscapes of Knole Park walking through woodland and across open grassland.

Knole, said to be the largest private house in England, is set in a deer park which was enclosed in 1406, Vita Sackville-West was born here. The garden, enclosed by a wall, has rectangular lawns and a wood known as the wilderness.

Knole Park has been home to the same Fallow deer herd since the 15th century and has been home to some Japanese Sika deer since the 1890s. The garden at Knole belongs to the whole Knole estate and we catch glimpses of it as we walk around the walls.

There is plenty of parking in the car park and we meet at the Knole house entrance gate at 12.00 noon where we commence the walk. We finish by having some optional refreshments at the tea room and restaurant alongside the house. (Please note that there is a parking charge in Knole Park).
