knifehandchop is 23 year old Billy Pollard from Toronto. He has been programming electronic beats since he was 18, releasing a string of illegal 7”'s for British record label ‘Irritant Records’. Using un-cleared samples scattered over huge beats these sought after tracks created massive buzz in publications such as Mixmag, Muzik, URB, XLR8R, Vice Magazine and more.

In 2003 knifehandchop recorded a live session for the late John Peel for his immensely influential radio show on BBC Radio 1.

Recently knifehandchop has toured and produced relentlessly releasing the ‘Dirty New York’ 12" on Tigerbeat6 and a split 12 with Modeselektor (bpitch) featuring vocals by Jamaican dancehall superstar Ninjaman. This was followed by a huge remix of the current smash UK single “Thou Shalt Always Kill” by Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip.

knifehandchop still finds time to throw a series of successful over the top parties in Toronto called Math Hooker. Previous guests include DJ Rupture, Modeselektor, Kero and Drop the Lime.

warm up by Vancouver's own "Math Hooker" Max Ulis (lighta!)
