Winner of the 1954 Tony award for Best Musical, Kismet is the story of a beggar poet caught for 24 hectic hours in a complex web of danger, hilarity, and love.

Its score, by Robert Wright and George Forrest, is adapted from the lush melodies of Alexander Borodin, and features “This is my Beloved”, and “Stranger in Paradise”. Opening night cast starred Alfred Drake, and included Steve Reeves. Fully staged and accompanied by full orchestra, Lyric Theatre’s Kismet is a rarely performed classic musical full of intrigue and humor.
