Kirtan/Satsang: Song and Discussion or Inquiry
with Karl and Friends. Kevin Cole on Tabla

An exploration of the Vedic verse on the nature of Oneness. Om purnamadah purnamidam... see http://yoganexus.com for mp3 clip and compete words.

"We are all One." "You are the Whole." "Know the Supreme Being." "Know your Higher Self." We hear and use these terms, but what does this mean for daily life? What are the implications for the ego as we know it? Explore and discuss this essential vedic verse then chant in the traditional three tone vedic method to deepen contemplation... followed by Kirtan.

Not only will we DISCUSS the meaning, but we will delve into the PRACTICE of chanting the mantra in unison in the traditional three tone form for an extended period enabling changes in body chemistry and the clearing of the mind in a way unique to extended chanting.

Karl's approach Kirtan is heavily influenced by the classical raga system and is more improvisational than some forms of kirtan. Thus non lyrical devotional expression embraces and rides sound as the heart calls, the improvistion frees the expression.
