Kiniwe, the Tufts African Music and Dance ensemble presents a program of instrumental music, songs and dancing from both the Ewe and Dagomba traditions of West Africa (Ghana). Items to be performed include fun-loving social dances – Gahu (Ewe) and Takai (Dagomba) – and more serious ritual dances – Agbekor (Ewe). Nani Agbeli, who will teach the Kiniwe curriculum in the spring term during Professor Locke’s sabbatical leave, will dance the spectacular Adzogbo.

This event is free and no tickets are required. Kiniwe’s performance is presented by Tufts Music and Tufts Drama/Dance.
