Kings of Leon will have full reign over Mid-America Center on Monday, October 12. Special guest White Lies will open the show.

Comprised of three brothers, Caleb Followill, Jared Followill and Nathan Followill and their first cousin Matthew Followill, Kings of Leon, an alternative rock band, formed in 2000 out of Nashville, Tennessee. The Followill siblings had spent their youth traveling across America's heartland with their evangelist father, decamping at Pentecostal churches and tent revivals for several days until their father resigned from the church and divorced his wife in 1997. The boys relocated to Nashville and embraced the rock they'd previously been denied. Cousin Matthew was added to the lineup and a Southern garage rock sound quickly emerged.

White Lies is a dark-edged trio hailing from London, taking sonic cues from the likes of Joy Division, the Teardrop Explodes, and Echo & the Bunnymen. In 2006, the trio changed musical directions, adapted a more somber group persona, and began creating doomy material like the funereal murder ballad "Unfinished Business" and the self-explanatory "Death." In April 2008, the trio made its television debut on "Later with Jools Holland" and began recording a debut album. "Death" was released as a single in September 2008, coinciding with the trio's first headlining tour of the U.K.
