Killing Bono November 16, 2011

Killing Bono (Nick Hamm, 2010) will be screened on Wednesday 16th November at 7.30pm in the Studio Theatre. 

As a punk schoolboy in Dublin in the 1970s, Neil McCormick wants to be famous, he wants to be a rock god. Neil and his brother Ivan have it all worked out - the albums, the stadium concerts, the quest for world peace. There's only one thing they hadn't counted on - the boy sitting on the other side of the classroom has plans of his own. And his name is Bono.

Written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, Killing Bono is an entertaining ‘almost true' story of rock rivalry, guilt and failure and features some engaging performances from the young cast. It is also the final screen credit of the late Pete Postlethwaite.
