Kidsave DC Summer Miracle Makers Benefit May 20, 2006

Please support Kidsave's Summer Miracles Program and help bring 10 children from orphanages in Bogota, Colombia to visit Washington DC families this summer. While the children are here, Kidsave will work to find them permanent homes. 95% of past participants have been adopted!! Join us for a family friendly event including a wine tasting, children's dinner and activities, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Gift vendors will also be selling jewelry, handbag, chocolate truffles and candles.

Wine and Beer Tastings
Throughout the evening, Tommy Joe's will host a wine tasting and a beer tasting from local microbrewery Hook & Ladder. Hook & Ladder was started by firefighters and is based in Silver Spring, MD. For every barrel of beer sold, Hook & Ladder donates $2.00 to the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. We like that support for nonprofits!! The wine and beer tastings are included in the $10 adult benefit ticket price. In addition to the tasting, adults will be given a wrist band that entitles the wearer to happy hour prices on all drinks and appetizers throughout the event.

Children's Dinner
Children's ticket price includes a buffet dinner and ice cream sundae bar served between 5PM and 7:30PM. We will also offer fun children's activities including face painting and games.

Silent Auction
We'll have approximately 30 items in our silent auction. Items auction will include tangible goods, tickets and gift certificates donated by local businesses supporting Kidsave.

50/50 Raffle
Kidsave volunteers will be selling raffle tickets throughout the evening for our 50/50 auction. Drawing to take place at 8PM with winner taking 50% of the pot and 50% donated to Kidsave. Tickets prices will be two for $5 and five for $10.

Gift Sales
Our event will include gift vendors selling jewelry from Forever Heather, hand bags, candles and home decor items from Home Interiors. 20% of all sales will be donated directly to Kidsave's Summer Miracles Program. We thank all vendors for their generous donations and participation.
Kidsave Summer Miracle Program Families
Past Summer Miracles Program families will be in attendance to answer any questions about their adoptive experiences as well as adopting older children. Summer Miracles Program participants are older children aged 5-12 years.

Please consider being an event corporate or individual sponsor. Large signs will be posted in our silent auction area acknowledging our sponsors. Benefit sponsorships are available for a donation of $250 for Silver level and $500 for Gold level.
