The City of Kemah Presents
The Kemah Crawfish Festival 2012
MORE CRAWFISH! MORE SPICE! MORE FUN
April 13 - 15
Under the Kemah Bridge
www.KemahCrawfishFestival.com

The Kemah Crawfish Festival benefits:
The Houston Blues Society: Dedicated to the study, research and preservation of the blues culture and music unique to Houston, Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast. They will provide a stage showcasing this iconic music of overcoming struggle that has deep traditions joining Texas and Louisiana
KPFT: Houston's listener-supported radio that has been dedicated to supporting vital musical traditions such as Zydeco and the Blues, and promoting local performers and events.
The Kemah Crawfish Festival showcases the sights, the music, great tastes, and above all, the fun that is Kemah, the Gateway to the Bay. The three-day festival takes place under the iconic Kemah Bridge, truly welcoming all into the city.
In its first year, 2011, the turnout and success of the Festival vastly exceeded even our wildest expectation. Tens of thousands of patrons descended on Kemah, hungry for great crawfish at a cheap price and a great time by the water. It was the biggest event the city has had. With the huge response we have dediated 2012 to MORE: more crawfish, more serving lines, more food vendors, more activities, more live music, more of everything that made this such an enjoyable event. All of Kemah will join in presenting their city, their food, their music, and all that makes life here so special. The Kemah Crawfish Festival takes the friendly, relaxed fun and community feel of a small town fair and, like the City of Kemah, serves it up big.
Attractions:
$2 A Pound Crawfish:
We’re bringing in the best farm-raised Crawfish the state of Louisiana has to offer at a great price when the season is really getting underway and the craving for crawfish is at its peak. The crawfish will be handled by James Wimberley, the Cajun King of Cookers. James has been farming, creating his own spicing secrets and cooking crawfish and Cajun food for over 35 years. James is one of the top boilers at Festival International in Lafayette, festivals from Texas to Alabama, and has catered at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion. For 2012 we will insure that the supply and service setup are prepared for the numbers we anticipate.
