Avant-garde metal band Kayo Dot (on John Zorn's Tzadik Records): an eight-piece experimental group performing music that integrates modern classical composition with the guitar layers and vocals more common to rock and metal. A vast array of instrumentation including four guitars, upright and electric bass, violin, vocals, euphonium, trumpet and drums, as well as live sound samples.

Frankenixon successfully merge indie rock, jazz and pop influences into a cohesive montage of looping, piano-laden music that is both wistful and ominous without being sad. Vocalist Evelyn Finch's beautifully chaotic voice weaves delicately through a distorted, haunted backdrop. At times, Finch gently whispers, pensively reminiscing before erupting into a cathartic burst of energy, pounding away at her keyboard in an effortless outburst of emotion.
