WHAT: Kay Ryan & the Marin Poetry Chair – An Autumn Poetry Picnic on Mt. Tam
The Cushing Memorial Amphitheatre, atop Mt. Tamalpais overlooking Marin and the San Francisco Bay, is the setting for autumn poetry readings featuring United States Poet Laureate Kay Ryan. Hosted by Marin Poet Laureate Albert Flynn DeSilver and the Marin Poetry Chair, this benefit event marking the 45th Anniversary of the California Poets in the Schools, also features poets Jane Hirshfield, Joanne Kyger and Paul Hoover; music by banjo and guitar virtuoso Tim Weed & Friends; and sandwiches, cookies and beverages or boxed lunches will be available for sale.

TICKETS: $22.50 per person / $45 per couple

SHUTTLES: Free round-trip shuttles leave from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. from the Manzanita Commuter Parking lot at the junction of Hwy 101 and Hwy 1 – Stinson Beach exit, Mill Valley. Look for signs “Poetry Shuttles to Mt. Tam.”
