Katy Butler (With Francine Prose): Reading Like A Writer, Workshop June 20, 2010

Great writers learn their craft by reading great writers. So argues Francine Prose in 'Reading like a Writer,' the book that is the guide for this group's discussions. In each session, the group will explore one chapter of Prose's book and discusses a particular literary technique, while savoring readings from Anton Chekhov, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and other greats. Although the group will do some brief in-session writing exercises, the group is open to lovers of literature who don't write.
