Kathak Recital by Indrayanee Mukherjee & Tina Tambe. This double-bill recital features two senior students of the city's stalwart Kathak dancer-choreographer, Uma Dogra. An Arts graduate from St. Xavier's College Mumbai, Indrayaneee Mukherjee is Uma Dogra's first disciple or ganda-bandh shagird. Having pursued the art form with dedication, she has been training and performing alongside her mentor, in India and abroad, for sixteen years. Her performances have been noted for their fluidity of gesture, precise bodyline and meticulous technique. Tina Tambe is one of Uma Dogra's seniormost disciples. A Nritya Alankar in Kathak from the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, she also holds a Master's degree in Kathak from Devi Ahilya University, Indore (in which she ranked first in the order of merit). She is a recipient of a scholarship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for advanced studies in Kathak. A registered examiner for the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, she is presently doing her doctoral studies in dance. She has performed in solo, duet and group recitals with Uma Dogra across the nation and abroad. She has represented her university at state, regional and national youth festivals, and has received the Singar Mani title and Nalanda's Nritya Nipuna award.
