The play Kalavu is an effort to explore the dimensions of thieving and the internal and external reactions of the humans. The play endeavors to study the rural life of India today. It uncovers the actors of the characters in searching for the stolen buffalo, comparing to steal something else, losing something else in the process and the condition in which the loser is not aware of what is lost thus the play moves towards breaking false grounds of theft and identifying its real grounds.
