Bangalore, Karnataka

A unique exhibition depicting narrative art, where women artisans from Kala Raksha, a grassroots social enterprise dedicated to preservation of traditional arts, express their experiences of the importance of water in their lives using fabric and thread. Their portrayals, artistically lyrical, compelling and amusing, recall the joys of nature, the satisfaction of good rains, the anxieties of wells going saline in their villages, the need to harvest water, and even the threat of industrialisation in Kutch.
