“KIMONOS…PASSION…JAZZ” - Dramatic performance blending Japanese & western instruments with story telling by Brenda Wong Aoki and original music by Emmy Award-Winning composer Mark Izu. Their indescribable hybrid of Kyogen, performance art, and jazz has garnered countless awards and international acclaim. Also featuring Grammy nominated multi-percussionist Dr. Anthony Brown, natori koto master Shoko Hikage, Mas Koga 2010 Best Latin Jazz flutist, vocalist Moy Eng and Janet Koike with PJ Hirabayashi on Taiko.

Proceeds from this benefit concert go directly to The Jizo Project. The Jizo Project was conceived in response to the tragedy at Okawa (Big River School) in Ishinomaki, Japan. Students, faculty and parents at Lick-Whilmerding High School in San Francisco established the Jizo Project to support the 500 remaining Elementary and Junior High School children in shelters around Okawa school as they re-establish their lives in the first 3 critical years after the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in 2011.
