Dustin O'Halloran, support act

Canadian cowgirl. Roy Orbison protégée. Torch singer with a twang, wistful ingenue, and self-assured songwriter—k.d. lang has been all of these. She’s also a multiple Grammy-winning artist at a significant juncture in her extraordinary career. Her newest recording, Watershed, comprises original songs produced, for the first time, by Lang herself. It’s a culmination of nearly every sound lang has explored, and it reveals a portrait of the artist as she is right now, with plenty of musical and lyrical allusions to how she got that way. Lang’s intense performances, balanced by a twinkling merriment, transmit her ardent commitment to her music and her audience.

Support act Dustin O'Halloran, one half of the group Devics, will start the evening off with emotionally resonant piano ballads that unite his classical training with raw sentiment and rich imagery.

Single tickets are $45, $40 for seniors, $27 for non-University of Illinois students, $22 for University of Illinois students and HS and younger.
