K. Sridhar is called "the Hendrix of the Sarod". He is a rare artist who has mastered not only an instrument of great complexity, but also two distinct traditions of Indian music: the Hindustani of the North and the Carnatic of the South. Deeply influenced by Shankar, Sridhar weaves a universally appealing sound which deftly incorporates Arabic, African, jazz, flamenco, Persian and European classical styles.
