K-2 is a play about two well-off men who travel to Pakistan to climb K-2, the second highest mountain in the world, assuming that they will be able to "meet the challenge and win." Motivated by pride and ambition, they are convinced that their elite status will guarantee that they will be able to "conquer" the world's deadliest mountain. Nature, however, has other plans and soon after their triumph on the mountain's summit, the two men are plunged into an epic catastrophe that threatens their very existence and forces them to confront the deepest questions of human life.
