With his invention, the Guit-steel (a standard six-string electric guitar and eight-string non-pedal steel, combined into one instrument) and top-notch vocals, Junior Brown is one of the most original and rewarding performers in country music. The Eilen Jewell Band is Boston's up-and-coming acoustic blues quartet. With strong country and folk influences, the group is composed of harmonica, guitar, drums and upright bass. The group is characterized by its soulful blend of original tunes and those of Howlin' Wolf, Hank Williams and Billie Holiday.
