PRO BLUES JAM
with JOHN MARX & BLUES PATROL

For more than a decade, Monday at Cozy's has
been THE jam night in LA and a constant fountain
of emerging talent. Every so often it’s blessed with
a surprise celebrity workout.

It’s really two shows. First up: A full set by our truly
great house band, The Blues Patrol, led by guitarist/singer
extraordinare John Marx. Immediately afterward,
jammers come up on a first-come basis, to be teamed with
other players ¬ usually for two songs.
From that point on, it’s a night of musical possibilities with the Blues Patrol members
always on hand to insure that an "A” level rhythm section is standing by, in case of emergency.
Sometimes brilliant. Always full of surprises. Never boring.

Note: Jammers, early arrival is suggested.

musicians with touring and recording credits like: Jimmy Reed, Eric Burdon,
Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Kim Carnes, Jennifer Warnes,
Was Not Was, Johnny Nash and many, many others.

All together, they create a sound that is much of the above, plus funky,
greasy, brilliant, elegant and impossible to describe. New Orleans

OSCAR JORDAN BAND
With these guys, you have a funky Lenny Kravitz meets
Sly Stone thing going on, a power ballad; then you switch gears
and have a back porch acoustic blues, then an r&b song.

There's a bluesy- fusion instrumental, a song that Santana could
cover, a funny gospel ballad, then a smooth jazzy tune.
There's a Hendrix-ish rock song, then a psychedelic blues with
wailing guitars. You end up with a great night at Cozy's.

musicians with touring and recording credits like: Jimmy Reed, Eric Burdon,
Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Kim Carnes, Jennifer Warnes,
Was Not Was, Johnny Nash and many, many others.

All together, they create a sound that is much of the above, plus funky,

NON-HOKEY KARAOKE
For this one night a week, Cozy's behaves more like a house party
than a blues venue. And karaoke becomes a full evening of great
entertainment as raw amateurs share the stage with prodigies, pros
and the occasional celebrity.

Always fun to watch. Never hokey.
Early signup is recommended for singers.
2 for 1 drinks until 10pm! (Beer, Well drinks & house wines)

Whether she's working, one on one, with
recording artists such as Kenny Latimore, or
doing major music events like the
"Celebration of Gospel", Tenicia always brings
a fresh point of view to the R&B arts.

At age 24, she's found a great venue to create
outlets for musicians, artists and poets of Los Angeles,
and this is where the Soul Station has been born.
Come down - see and hear for yourself

The FORTY-FOURS
"L.A.'s Best New Blues Band"
L.A. Weekly

It's a powerhouse combo that plays roots music with a freshness
that's hard to match.

They formed as a band while on the road in Sturgis, South Dakota for
the motorcycle rally and have been blasting out traditional Texas/House-Rockin
blues while zig-zagging the U.S. for the two years since.
Now featuring Tets "Weeping Willow" Nakamura (formerly of "War") on
harmonica, their octane just went up another notch.
We think you'll love 'em.
