Bellevue's Temple B'nai Torah is pleased to invite the community to "An Evening with Julie Mirel," an hour-long concert of a sampling of the most beautiful Jewish songs ever written. The incomparable Julie Mirel will perform selections representing the best of Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Israeli, Cantorial and cultural Jewish music.

The concert, part of the synagogue's Cultural Arts Series, will be held Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 7:00pm at Temple B'nai Torah, 14727 NE4th, Bellevue.

A professional singer for the past forty-five years, Ms. Mirel has performed in concert halls and synagogues throughout the Western United States, singing in a variety of styles, including opera, musical theatre, cabaret, Jewish music, chamber and symphonic works. Ms. Mirel appeared in the Music of Remembrance series from its inception in 1998 through 2003 and has served several Northwest Reform congregations as a Cantorial soloist. She currently serves in that capacity at Temple B'nai Torah, assisting in leading weekly Shabbat worship. The concert includes accompaniment by Carol Sams and a multimedia presentation by David and Shana Aucsmith.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public, made possible through the Hermine Pruzan Endowment Fund. At-will donations will be gratefully accepted and directed to the Norm Greenbaum Campership Fund, which provides financial assistance to children and teens wishing to attend Jewish summer camps and leadership retreats.

"We are so excited to have Julie perform for us and the community," said Robin Plotnik, Co-president of the synagogue. "Julie's musical talent brings to life the Jewish music of the world, and we are pleased to be able to invite the public to share this evening with us. We know everyone will enjoy the concert."
