The “Read the Movie, Watch the Book” selection is a 2009 hit film based on a pair of books, Julie & Julia by Julie Powell and My Life in France by Julia Child. Julia Child’s story of her start in the cooking profession is intertwined with blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Child’s first book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci star in the PG-13 rated film. Discussion time will follow the movie. Free and open to the public.
