Born in Ohio, she moved to Seattle in 1976 after 10 years in Texas, and has exhibited regularly in the Northwest since 1978. Heyne paints urban and rural landscapes on heavily worked surfaces. Extensive travel provides most of the content of the work in which Heyne transforms these diverse visual experiences into images that convey a strong sense of place.
